Well, we made it. After a very soggy but fun day, the kids all say they had a great time. We saw a very informative play and got to meet many interesting people at the fort.
Thank you so much to everyone that spent their day with us.

Friday is our very first field trip this year. We will be heading to Ft. Harrod. Please make sure you have turned in your permission slip and money. This is a great trip and I know the students will all have a good time.

Our class was lucky enough today to be visited by not one but TWO spiders! Don't worry...they were caged! We are reading the book Charlotte's Web in Mrs. Clemon's class. Here are a couple of pictures :-)

Next Friday (Sept 7) will be AME Grandparent Night! We would love to have as many grandparents here as possible. If you are attending please make sure to send in your RSVP and a picture of your child with their grandparents. Hope to see you there :-)

Our first round of classroom tests are coming up quickly.

Our first science test will be Wednesday Aug 15. This test will cover our first unit: Plant and Animal Classification. Our key vocabulary words are: vascular, non-vascular, vertebrate, and invertebrate.

Our first math test will be Thursday August 16. This test will cover place value up to the 100,000 place. Students will also need to be prepared to order and compare whole numbers.
All students have been working very hard at school so I'm expecting great results.

As I'm sure you have already heard, Friday was filled with Minute to win it games. The students were given tasks and asked to work together as a team to complete the task within one minute. They had so much fun doing the activity and I had so much laughing at how silly they looked :-)

I can really tell that I am going to LOVE my students this year. Everyone seems like a great kid and I am so excited to get to know them more and more every day. Sleep good tonight kids because we start learning tomorrow!!!!

As you know, our first day of school is Tuesday!!! Where did the summer go? It seemed to go by so quickly. Thank you to those of you who were able to come to our open house last Thursday. It was so nice to meet all of you. I look forward to meeting the rest of you on Tuesday.

I would also like to thank those of you who have already responded to our test messaging service and completed the survey on my website.
